When it comes to working, there is no time for games as your salary is at stake. The types of people who take such chances are usually those who consume drugs. It is important to try to implement an emotional intelligence leadership training in the workplace so that everyone is healthy and working productively.

It is important to take the time to educate your employees. Remember that not everyone comes from a great background and reading a policy could be a foreign language to them. It is best to have a team of people who are experienced at teaching others about what is good for them and what isn t. They are also skilled at helping staff to feel empowered and gain confidence that they can take control of their lives.

A good idea to make sure that those who are leaning toward breaking the law do not follow through is to create a room in the office which is dedicated for people who are having a bad day or need to get away even for just an hour. It is up to others to see that there is a problem and to ask the person if they can enter so they can offer their support. This can be to discuss any matter but mostly related to habits they can t break.

Policies are still mandated and whether or not you believe in them, as a business you need to have it. The last thing you need is a staff member breaking the law and stating that you don t have anything in writing telling them they can t. Ask your lawyer to have this drawn for you.

A great idea would be to have regular training sessions. These are more like workshops in which you would hire a motivational speaker every now and then to speak to your employees about avoiding such substances. You can do one a quarter and make a day out of it. Perhaps no one is allowed to work on this day however, they do need to come in to listen and you can provide snacks and sodas for them to enjoy.

Unplanned substance abuse tests are done by many organizations. As long as they are in their right to have this, they basically get their lawyer to have a policy drawn and they can conduct this to anyone and any time, without anyone knowing when it will happen. This will help if staff want to carry through with their habit as they can easily get caught.

If you are not sure about which methods will work best, you can always get in touch with other companies who you know have such steps in place to keep their business free from this. Ask for a meeting and get their insights. You can also come with your ideas and discuss whether they think it will be successful and whether they have tried it before in the past.

It may seem difficult when you think about it now but once you get into it and start seeing a positive change, you will not regret the changes you have made.
